The height of the roof at 25-stories tall and the weight of the new coils presented numerous challenges in terms of logistics and placement surrounded by existing equipment.
The project required a phased shut down of each MAU in order to keep the hotel operational and comfortable throughout. The pipes were then insulated and wrapped in sheet metal. All exposed piping on the roof required replacement to handle the new capacity. The bonded project required upsizing of the existing coils, fans, and motors and the introduction of electric heat to help with humidity concerns. VERTEX was contracted by a Hotel/Casino operator in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to act as General Contractor for the sensitive updates to their existing rooftop make-up air units (MAUs).
